Preamble
This policy seeks to facilitate equitable access to library resources and equipment to enable maximum use of the resources by all patrons.
Membership
Loan Periods
Loan periods are based upon patron category and the type of resource to be checked out.
At present, the library offers the following categories of resources and the associated loan periods:
21-DAY:
7-DAY
3-DAY:
1-DAY:
Library Use Only:
The length of the standard loan period is 21 days. However, dependent upon the number of copies available for a title, a “temporary due date” may be set by library staff, resulting in a shorter loan period. The temporary loan period may range as follows: 3-Day, or 7-Day.
Resources may be renewed, once there are no holds/reservations placed upon them.
Resident faculty members are issued loans which are due at the end of the current term, or part thereof.
Visiting faculty members are required to return their resources prior to their departure from St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
Additionally, the library offers the following categories of equipment and the associated loan periods:
Loan Allowances
The following represents the number of resources which may be borrowed simultaneously for external use:
Patron Category : Pre-Med students, Medical Students, Visiting Faculty
Resident faculty
Staff
Overdue Loans
Books and other items become overdue if they are not returned to a library staff member by the close of the Library Office on the day on which they are due, or at the end of the specified loan period. See also Circulation Policy.

Membership
- Membership is open to all registered students of the Trinity School of Medicine, as well as members of faculty and staff.
- All prospective library users are required first to register with the library by filling out a registration form obtainable from the Librarian. Membership is not transferable.
